EcoFellows boosted the awareness of circular economy in Tampere, Finland – in cooperation with libraries. The exhibition tour covered five municipalities in Tampere region during the years 2023–2024, as a pilot of the TREASoURcE project.
Sharing is an essential part of circular economy, and this makes libraries good partners for the circular economy exhibition. Many libraries have expanded their offer beyond books and music to include, for example, hobby equipment.
The EcoFellows Library Tour included a versatile information package on the circular economy and gave visitors the opportunity to test their circular economy knowledge with the task cards specially designed for this purpose.

In one of the pilot libraries, the library conducted a survey among its customers in connection with the TREASoURcE exhibition. The library wanted to know what people would like to borrow from the library. And as a result of the this survey, the number of camping equipment to borrow from the library was increased, because that was what the customers wanted.
The focus of the TREASoURcE circular economy exhibition has been on the project’s three value chains: batteries, plastics and bio-based side streams. The exhibition also introduces the main principles of sustainable consumption.

After the library pilots, the materials produced for the tour have continued to be used to disseminate information in TREASoURce’s circular economy training courses in schools in the Tampere region.
